Bonsai hesthøj

Presentation

Bonsai Hesthøj is a gelding born in 2014. He is the first foal that Flora Danica gave birth to with us. She was pregnant with him when we bought her.

Bonsai Hesthøj is a real girl’s horse. He is sweet, loving, and a beautiful red gelding. He is rideable with good and honest gaits. Not “wow” gaits but rhythmical and correct movements that good average riders can manage and that are easy to work with.

He is ready for LA4 and LA5. Initially, we kept him as a riding horse for our daughter, but education and interest in musical theatre have prevented her from riding. Unfortunately, it took a few years before she realized that her beloved Bonsai needed a future with another rider. Therefore, he started his training late. KD-dressage has had him in training for a little over half a year, then he was in a sales stable where he did not thrive at all. Therefore, he is now back home at the stud where Jesper rides him.

He is sired by Hoftanz with Florencio as the dam’s sire. His dam is the elite mare Flora Danica ERDH.

Bonsai Hesthøj is the full brother to the mare Hortensia RDH, who competes in S-dressage with a Finnish young rider. Hortensia is the dam of Filligran (by Fürstenball), who won the Youngster Cup in 2021 and debuted in Intermediare at the CDI event during the DV stallion show in 2022, where he placed.

The same dam line includes several Grand Prix horses.
